Golden Spike Company announces Plans for Commercial Flights to the Moon

The Golden Spike Company has revealed its plans to offer commercial manned expeditions to the Moon by 2020 on Thursday.
The Golden Spike Company was formed in 2010 with the objective of providing human expeditions to the Moon. The President/CEO of the company is Alan Stern, a well-known Planetary Scientist and former head of NASA’s Science Mission Branch. The Board of directors is led by Board Chair Gerry Griffin, former Director of NASA’s Johnson Space Center, and Apollo Program Flight Director.
Chinese Spacecraft makes close Flyby of Asteroid Toutatis

The Chinese Chang’e-2 space probe has completed a close flyby of Asteroid Toutatis on Thursday, December 13, 2012, acquiring close-up images of the asteroid and using its instruments to acquire scientific data.
The Chang’e-2 lunar probe was launched on October 1, 2010 atop a Long March 3C rocket from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center. In design, it is similar to the Chang’e-1 Probe that was launched in 2007 and returned data from lunar orbit until March 2009. Chang’e-2 is outfitted with a stereo camera, a laser altimeter, Gamma & X-Ray Spectrometers as well as a microwave detector.
